Stepping out of the building, looking to the right, one is astonished at the grandeur of the Colosseum. He could not imagine how rich this area is! In front of you is the Basilica of St. Clement, rich in charm and memories. Just a short walk away ll Monastery of the Holy Four, an out-of-this-world corner of peace that offers a splendid cloister and holds a true gem from the 1200s: the Gothic Hall (6′). The Basilica of St. John, just beyond (10′). The garden of Villa Celimontana and the beautiful walk on the Palatine that, passing the church of SS, John and Paul (10′) leads to the Circus Maximus and Caracalla (15′). Heading toward the Colosseum on the right the Domus Aurea (7′) book a visit. And, going up the Caelian, the church of St. Peter in Chains with Michelangelo’s magnificent newly restored Moses with striking lighting (15′). Continuing the Roman nightlife district, very “cool” even for the less young, full of ethnic restaurants and trattorias. Perfect for an aperitif or “street food,” but also for non-signature shopping. On the left, past the Colosseum is access to the Forums and a walk to the churches of St. Sebastian and St. Bonaventure (20′). Flanking the Forums on the level, the monumental promenade, totally pedestrianized, leads you to Piazza Venezia (30′).
